Fourth of July Lesson Plans for Parents

If you want to teach your children about the Fourth of July another great activity is to visit one of the National cemeteries and place flowers on the graves of soldiers who have died to ensure our freedom as Americans. This will help children to understand that the freedom that we have as Americans is very special. Once you have reviewed special contributors to American history, you should implement various activities in order to keep the impact of the educational experience fresh in the mind of the child that you are teaching.

Lastly, you can teach children about the Fourth of July by placing a flag in or around your home. This can lead to a discussion on what the various colors and symbols of the flag represent. You can also attend a firework party in which you can explain to the child why we celebrate the Fourth of July by shooting off fireworks.
