Almost every home has carpet in at least one room in the house. Carpet feels good underneath our feet and helps us feel more relaxed in our home. The luxurious feel of carpet can help remove the stresses of the day on the soles of our feet. Carpet also has little benefits of not letting a feet in a cold floor when we wake up on those midwinter mornings.

 

With all the benefits that carpet has, it also comes with one problem; it tends to stain when something is spilled on it. The location of the carpet usually determines what type of stains will get on the carpet. Some of the most prevalent carpet stains are fruit juice, wine and mud. It doesn't make any difference what type stain that you have; there is surely something available which will remove the stain from your carpet.

If you happen to have a stain on your carpet you could begin by going to the store and choose from one of several products designed especially for stain removal on carpet. When choosing a carpet spot remover off-the-shelf, be certain that you read what type of carpets that the cleaner or spot remover is best suited for.

Some of the spot removers can be very harsh while some are very mild. You should be careful in choosing which type you intend on using on your carpet. If you have a darker colored carpet and you choose a carpet spot remover which is to harsh, you may fade the carpet in that area. On the other hand if you choose a carpet spot remover which is too mild, you may just make the spot look worse.

Be certain that you test an inconspicuous area of your carpet before spraying the cleaner over a large area. If the cleaner is too hard it may fade the color of your carpet. By testing in an inconspicuous area you can save yourself from having to re-carpet an entire room.

When cleaning spots from your carpet, only use white towels to scrub the cleaner into the carpet. Do not use any type of colored fabric materials to clean your carpet. By using a white towel or white rag you will prevent any color from bleeding from the towel or rag into your carpet making the stain even worse.

Finally, if you have a stain which seems to be very bad or is red in color, do not hesitate to call a professional to get the stain out. If you follow these simple tips you'll find that there is no carpet spot that you cannot deal with.
