If you are trying to track down a long lost loved one, you obviously know the persons name and it’s easy- rather it makes the task of tracking down the person an easier one. You could employ different methods of tracking down a person whose name you know.

It’s when you are looking for someone whose name you are not sure of, that when the real problem starts. How on earth do you look for someone when you do not even know who you are looking for? Maybe you have stumbled upon an old address or phone number, and are trying to get in touch with the person electronically. You would need an e-mail address. Is it possible to get it with the limited information you have in your hand?

Some websites actually exist that allow you to locate people by their address.

WhitePages.com is one such website. It is an online directory with rich resources and it allows you to conduct simple, reliable and fast searches with whatever little information you have on hand. You could search use a name, phone number or address to conduct a search on business, people, e-mail, zip and area codes or mailing lists.

Another good website is SearchEnginez.com. This differs slightly from WhitePages.com in that it is more similar to a regular search engine rather than a directory. It’s just as simple though. You just have to enter the person’s address and you will be given a list of names of people with matching addresses. This is an ideal way to narrow down your search to a few best options. SearchEnginez.com does not limit its search to just your locality or even your country. Its database encompasses the whole world. This site offers you its absolutely impressive international service. Presently, you could conduct an international search just by entering a few of the missing person’s details such as his home address, phone number, messenger ID or email address.

Switchboard.com is a highly advanced interactive business search directory, holding the names and address of over 20,000 listings in more than 2,000 categories. You could use this search engine to find people by address through the site’s white pages section. Their numerous options include Maps & Directories, Find a Person, Area & Zip Codes, Find a Business, Web Search and Search by Phone. A special feature of Switchbord.com is its additional Reverse Lookup section. Interestingly this helps you to know who’s calling you.

Yahoo! People Search helps you to find people by address using their white pages which they offer free of cost. Using Yahoo! People Search you have access to updated addresses as well as phone numbers of long lost family, friends, classmates and business colleagues.
