Things to Experience in San Diego

First-time visitors to San Diego can be easily overwhelmed by the number of things available for them to do. Just deciding what to do and where to go can turn out to be a time-consuming activity. Listed here are eight must-do activities that visitor to San Diego can afford to miss.

Hit the beach: The beaches are what make San Diego the exciting place it is. This is where all the action takes place, right from the Belmont Park rollercoaster to Mission Beach. People come from all over the place to soak in the inviting sun as they watch the tide come in.

Eat a fish taco: it sound new and rather unusual to you, but fish taco is considered to be one of the most delicious dishes in San Diego. Fish is battered, deep fired and stuffed in a corn tortilla. Once you’ve tried this mouth-watering version of fish taco you’re sure to come back for more.

Go to Mexico: San Diego shares a border with Mexico. Despite rumors to the contrary, visiting Baja Mexico or Tijuana is perfectly safe. However do remember that their own laws apply here and you are required to take your passport along so you can enter the country and enjoy all it has to offer.

Take a trolley ride: San Diego’s trolley is well known. It is the best mode of transport on these intimidating highways. All you need to do is purchase an all-day trolley and pass and you would be amazed at the sights you are bound to come across as you travel to every corner of the city on the trolley.

Visit the Pandas: A visit to San Diego Zoo is a must if you want to see the amazing Pandas. The biggest attraction at the zoo is baby Su Lin, the charming little Panda who visitors find simply irresistible. If you want to see the pandas in action, you should the San Diego Zoo in the morning.

Go to Balboa Park: After feasting you eyes on those charming pandas, time to take a trip to Balboa Park- the jewel of San Diego city. The spectacular atmosphere at the park is sure to leave you spellbound. Tuesday is the best day to visit the park as most museums do not charge admission. When you are done with the museums stop by at Prado restaurant and enjoy an exquisite meal in a spectacular setting.

Gaslamp and the nightlife: Don’t miss the Gaslamp Quarter, located in downtown San Diego, for an amazing night out eating, drinking and people watching. This is the place to be if you want to experience the exciting nightlife of San Diego. You can choose from a wide array of multi-cuisine food to match your mood and suit your taste.

Visit the Old Town: Those of you who are disappointed that there are no signs of historical San Diego can take a trip to the Old Town State Historic Park for a trip back in time and see what San Diego looked like in the days of yore.
